I checked windows firewall settings mine is always completely disabled though and still was , tried reinstalling social club and renaming the local save folder in order to reinitiate the game. Yes its an annoying and highly unsatisfying workaround, but at least it works and lets you play until the issue gets properly fixed. Ive had the issue before, but its always been temporarily and usually lasted for a few minutes or so, this time we're talking a whole weekend, so something serious must be wrong.
Np mate, hope you eventually find a fix for it as I need it as well. Just a word of advice, dont get enticed to purchase premium for Betternet, I just did and the premium is actually worse than free. Also, theres no option to cancel your subscription anywhere in windows app, their website or in the confirmation email they send you upon registration. Don't Rockstar ban accounts on VPNs? Nor can I tell like youre referring to whether its the same issue that drives the cause accross all users. For the reasons mentioned, I listed the things I did try, regardless of whether they solved anything for me or not, as it might just be the solution for others. Among the users Ive seen report the error, quite a few are in a situation that resembles mine in regard of the game running fine and without user interaction, it suddenly stops working.
While that eliminates the good old error , it still does leave room for it to be caused by some autonomous software, like an AV solution that updates itself or similar. Sometimes my campaign save loads, sometimes is seems erased. Everytime I try to go online, It shows the mentioned error. Rockstar support has been completely unhelpful. Since other users are impacted, this is definitely an issue on their end. If someone who is not experiencing this issue, is willing to use Wireshark to analyze network traffic, we can probably identify the issue or at least narrow it down significantly.
Dreadstone8 , I've been having this issue too. I cleared the cache on one of my s yesterday and it worked, but today I tried that and everything on every forum I've read with no luck. Such nonsense. Disturbed Shawn , Posted on 17 September 21 at Yeah I'm getting this message too, I tried clearing the cache but that didn't work.
I tweeted at Rockstar Support about it. Thank you for your response. We appreciate your explanation and reasoning behind the connection issues. We'll happily investigate this further for you, however, we would still require the screenshot of the www. Additionally, we would appreciate some screenshots of your Xbox s Connection settings to help us understand how your console is connecting to the network.
In oder to share these please set us a screenshot of the following: Go to Settings and select System. Select Network Settings. For console players, the fix is a little more complex as you may need to change your DNS settings. From here you can go into your DNS settings and select Manual , to manually change the settings. From the home screen , go to Settings , then Network and then Setup internet connection.
From this menu, hit Choose you connection type , go for Custom setup and then select Automatic IP address settings.
